Challenge
We believe the state of the gaming industry is obsolete and broken. You spend too much hours indoors sitting in your chair, playing dull games while drinking Mountain Dew and munching on cookies.
So we're on a mission to bring you real gaming, with real humans, in the real world. Moreover, we want our gaming experience to augment your reality and stretch your imagination.
Solution
We create disruptive mobile games.
Our first game is TakeOver: think of the board game Risk unfolding in the real world. You play from your smartphone, the board is the actual city and you conquer it with the help of your Facebook friends.
TakeOver is:
* Massive Multi Online Game - built on top of the Facebook Open Graph;
* Urban Pervasive - it never ends, the goal is to take over the world.
* Location Based Game - you have to physically be in the zone to conquer it.
TakeOver is built with HTML5, it's cross-platform, optimized for mobile browsers on the iPhone, Android, etc.
Results
TakeOver is in the public alpha phase. We launched in May 2010 at Mini SeedCamp Copenhagen, where we got a popularity vote and very good traction.
Currently (mid June 2010) we have 20 people testing the core game functionality and we will release a public Beta version in the beginning of July. You can signup for it or give the alpha a spin at http://ng.ro
Target Markets
If you're on Facebook and you have a smartphone, you're a player. That's 100mil users, twice as active as the desktop ones and doubling every year (acc to Facebook statistics).
We target people currently playing:
* Zynga's games - 270 million,
* Booyah's MyTown - 2 million,
* Foursquare, Gowalla, etc - 1 million each
Checkins will be ubiqutous this year. Facebook will release a checkin feature, Google is doing it with Latitude and Google Places, Yelp as well, etc.
The goal in TakeOver is to take over the world. But we start by addressing regions with a high concentration of tech enthusiasts: The Valley, New York, London and hot universities like Stanford.
