Challenge
At the moment some urban waste management enterprises have introduced technology in their system. Most use RFID tags to identify dumpsters, garbage cans, trucks, allowing them to monitor the smaller details along the route and the weekly garbage disposal. However, these technologies do not enable companies or cities to obtain real time information about a container, whether it is full or not, and consequently they do not enable these actors to make adhoc routes that optimize the usage of the fleet.
Solution
Our autonomous sensors are incorporated into garbage receptacles, measuring the real time occupancy of individual receptacles and transmitting this information to a central control centre where it then can be used to optimize resources, specifically the fleet.
Results
These sensors create an added value for the waste management sector, allowing them to optimize routes and obtain valuable information for post-analysis planning. By allowing for new efficiencies, these actors might foster good-will among city residents while delivering a more environmentally sound service.
Target Markets
Waste Management Companies, Municipal Waste Management Departments, Dumpster or Garbage Receptacle Manufacturers.
