Watch to engage taxi and bus drivers, security companies and people in saftey

The pilot of m-neighbourhoodwatch was launched in January 2005. Taxi and bus drivers, security companies and other active people can participate in making Tartu safer by receiving SMSnotifications on issues (missing persons, stolen cars) that require watchful eyes.
Messages are sent by police control center and all Tartu taxi, bus and security companies are included in this project. The project is currently at the pilot stage.
The service has been actively used especially in finding missing persons and the relevant cases have been covered also in media. Maarja Semevsky from Mobi Solutions has noted, that the service could also be developed further to include also voluntary ordinary citizens to receive the sms notifications, as this would make the service even more efficient.
